This looks like the cabinet under my kitchen sink!
Take a look under your kitchen and bathroom sink and you'll probably find some of these same products. Pledge for dust, windex for windows, cascade for dishes, ajax for the toilet, joy for more dishes, lysol to disinfect. I think the average cost of one of these cleaning products is about $4.75. Let's multiply that by 15 different bottles of cleaning supplies and we come to a grand total of $71. 25! Those of us that do the shopping and the cleaning at our house know how often there is a need to purchase these products. I personally find it rather annoying that I have to purchase so many different cleaners to clean the various surfaces in my home and then cart them all over my house in a bucket so the product I need is readily available to perform it's toxic duty.
Ever notice the smell that our cleaning products produce? Sometimes the smell is so strong that I have to open my windows just to breathe! Is clean supposed to smell like a chemical? Would I want my child to crawl on my "clean" floor or lick the "clean" kitchen counter or dinner table after I wiped across it with a Brawny paper towel soaked in 409?
Many of the household cleaning products used in homes are actually health hazards. This is because some of the chemicals needed to make the products effective are harmful. Let's take a closer look at our good ole standby - Windex. Windex contains ammonia. Products that contain ammonia are irritating to the eyes, respiratory and digestive tracts, and the skin. Many children with asthma, chronic coughing and allergies notice that their symptoms subside and even disappear when these common household products are no longer used.
If I ever walked into my kitchen to find my baby girl crawling under the sink to explore the pretty colored cleaning solution bottles I would probably have a panic attack and blame myself for being so naive about the products I am using in my home! That's why I threw every single bottle in the garbage before Brighton's arrival.
Get this - One 16-oz. $11.95 bottle of the Shaklee H2 cleaner, when diluted according to the directions for cleaning windows, makes up the equivalent of 5,824 bottles of 26-oz. windex. No need to do the math there!
So here’s what makes the Get Clean products from Shaklee different from your basic bleach-infused products on the shelves at your local grocery store. Shaklee creates all their products with the
health of the people using them as the main focus. They use only the purest natural ingredients in their products (and they also operate with a net zero impact on the earth, which is always a plus) so you can rest assured that if your child licks the floor (and seriously, he might, as nasty as that might sound), it isn’t going to make him ill. It’s really reassuring to know that you’re doing what you can to keep your child healthy.
